Sony Honda Mobility Utilizes KDDI’s Global Communication Platform for AFEELA Brand’s First Mass Production Electric Vehicle

Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Chairman and CEO: Yasuhide Mizuno) has decided to use the Global Communication Platform*1 provided by KDDI Corporation (KDDI; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Makoto Takahashi) for the network services of the first mass-production electric vehicle of AFEELA brand, scheduled for sales in 2025.

Announcements

  • In pursuit of providing high-quality and stable network services for AFEELA’s first mass-production vehicle scheduled for sales in 2025, SHM aims to connect vehicle to networks using various regional Mobile Network Operators (MNOs)*2.
  • To achieve this, the KDDI Global Communication Platform will be utilized, allowing AFEELA’s first mass-production vehicle to have high-throughput, low-latency telecommunications with the cloud platform developed and operated by SHM.

This time, we were selected by Sony Honda Mobility as the company’s global lead carrier of its network services for the mass-produced AFEELA brand model that is scheduled to launch in 2025.
We are delighted to be able to take part in the creative entertainment experience AFEELA is aiming to achieve, and its global launch.
